St Edmundsbury - West Suffolk
« on: 3 April 2016, 07:55:57 »
The St Edmundsbury Chronicle is a website all about the history of St Edmundsbury in West Suffolk - with its main town of Bury St Edmunds. There are many fascinating articles and exhibits, including maps.

However what makes it most interesting in this context is their Guide to DIY mapping using QGIS. There is an introduction to GIS article, and they show how to use the free QGIS tool and available free data to prepare several types of map. The level of mapping is not down to buildings.

mapping4ops.org is a Society for One-Place Studies project supported by Grassroots Giving from Skipton Building Society
