AIRO (All-Island Research Observatory, or An TIonad Breathnaithe um Thaighde Uile-√Čireann) is a research and consultancy unit based at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland.

"We specialise in socio-demographic analysis, spatial analysis (GIS), spatial planning and data analytics. Most of our research and consultancy work is in the area of demographics, economy, housing and the environment. We deliver projects for both public and private sector clients on the island of Ireland and are involved in a number of pan-European spatial planning projects."

"We host a series of public good mapping and interactive data visualisations tools. These take the form of census mapping modules for every local and regional authority, national mapping viewers with the Central Statistics Office, mapping tools for secondary schools and a wide variety of data visualisation tools such as our Dublin City Dashboard, EU2020 indicators and the GHDI Dashboard." One way to access them is via the The Atlas of the Island of Ireland.

"AIRO is a big supporter of the OpenData movement and as such we make as much of our data available to the public through our AIRO DataStore."

Their mapping resources include Census Mapping and specific AIRO Research Themes, such as Health, Housing and Historical Mapping.

They are a leading provider of QGIS training in Ireland and run QGIS Data for Decisions (D4D) workshops.
